Senate Bill 298
Authorizes partnerships between DDS and public/private high schools as well as third party testers to administer the non-commercial knowledge test. Gives customers the ability to drive on a DDS Online Services receipt, pending the arrival of their permanent license in the mail. Requires courts to only refer defendants to driving schools certified by DDS. Requires defendant to complete DUI/ Risk Reduction within 120 days following conviction or within 90 days of being released from incarceration. equires that only DBHDD licensed clinical evaluators perform clinical evaluations. Increases fee for Driver Improvement (if taken to satisfy court order or license requirements) from $75 to $95. Increases fee for DUI/ Risk Reduction Program. Increases Assessment Component from $82 to $100. Increases Intervention Component from $190 to $260. Offenders paying fees prior to July 1st, should pay the current amounts regardless of class dates.
Senate Bill 365
Gives judges the discretion to issue limited driving permits or waive license suspensions in controlled substance violation cases that do not involve the use of a motor vehicle.
Senate Bill 392
Amends night time driving restrictions for Class D license holder’s curfew from ‘midnight to 6:00 a.m.’ to ‘midnight to 5:00 a.m.’.
